Post 16 Transitions
Post-16 Transitions
In year 11 students prepare for their post 16 transitions. The students must choose whether to:
- Stay in full-time education
- Start an apprenticeship or traineeship
- Spend 20 hours or more a week working or volunteering while also doing part-time education or training
We advise that even if a student is confident that they want to apply for an apprenticeship or enter employment, it is important that they have a backup plan to avoid disappointment in case things do not work out the way they hoped. Therefore we advise all students apply for a course via mychoice16.
Full time education
Year 11 students in Cambridge have an incredibly impressive choice when it comes to what they do after they complete their GCSEs. There are 14 Post-16 centres in Cambridge Area Partnership, offering a range of courses and subjects; (Please click on on the photo to view details about the college)
Applications
In October students will receive their log in details for MyChoice16. Students will be provided with details on how to complete their profile and they will be supported with writing their personal statement and ultimately completing their application.
The deadline for applications is Friday 6th December 2024
