WORLD BOOK DAY THURSDAY 5TH MARCH 2026
We are happy to share next Thursday 5th March, we will be celebrating World Book Day, a fantastic opportunity to inspire a love of reading and creativity in our students. To mark the occasion, we have planned a range of exciting activities in the library throughout the week, such as bookmark origami, a book swap, and our “Quotation Wall of Inspiration” and a Library Treasure Hunt.
The book swap is a great way for students to discover new stories while sharing books they have enjoyed. If your child would like to take part, please encourage them to bring an age-appropriate book, ideally suitable for young adult readers aged 11 to 16. A quick check of their choice would be helpful to ensure it is suitable for their peers.
Students will also receive a National Book Token, which they can use to purchase a special £1 World Book Day book or get £1 off any book at participating bookshops. This is a fantastic opportunity for them to choose a new book and enjoy reading even more. Tokens can be redeemed at The Works, WHSmith, Waterstones, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Asda, and other independent retailers, both in-store and online. The redemption period runs until 15th March 2026.
