Julian Sedgwick – Author Tsunami Girl
What a joy it was to welcome Julian Sedgwick to the school today to talk to year 7! Julian spoke about life as a writer and his latest novel, the Carnegie Award shortlisted, ‘Tsunami Girl’.
‘Tsunami Girl’ is a story of resilience in the face of tragedy beautifully woven with Japanese folklore and culture. It combines manga with writing to bring to tell the incredible story of Yuki and Halfwave.
Many students took the opportunity to purchase their own books, supplied by Heffers Bookshop, and had them signed by Julian. It was particularly great to hear all the insightful questions that our students had for Julian. Well done year 7!
