Enrichment and Music Tuition

Each year, the Arts Faculty collaborates on a variety of extra-curricular projects, including Musical Productions and the Summer Arts Festival. Recent highly successful musicals have included High School Musical, Chicago, Sweeney Todd, Grease, Les Misérables – School’s Edition, Little Shop of Horrors, and more. Over 100 students participate in these productions annually, including the cast, orchestra, and backstage team. We are fortunate to have a professional tech crew who provide top-notch sound and lighting, as well as a talented group of Art teachers and students who design and build the sets for each event.

The Summer Arts Festival is an exciting event, offering students of all ages and skill levels the opportunity to perform and showcase their work in a relaxed, informal setting. Past performances have included piano solos, string ensembles, stage bands, choirs, small ensembles, solo performances, rock bands, and much more.

The GCSE Concert, a new addition this year, gave talented musicians the chance to perform for an appreciative audience, highlighting their skills and creativity.

Students have also had the chance to perform at various events, such as those hosted by Anglia Learning Trust in Cambridge, concerts at the Corn Exchange with Michael Rosen, and workshops with former student and West End performer Rhys Whitfield, who starred as Raoul in The Phantom of the Opera and currently plays Nate in The Devil Wears Prada.

Recent trips have included attending Phantom of the Opera and Wicked in the West End, as well as the Nine Lessons at King’s College Chapel. This year, students are excited to visit the West End to see Hamilton.

Music-related extra-curricular activities include:

  • Pop Choir
  • The Oakes Choir
  • Musical rehearsals
  • Stage Band
  • String Ensemble
  • Jazz Band
