Coursework

JCQ Guidance regarding coursework is available for download at the bottom of this page.  Each student should ensure that their work is their own and must sign a declaration to that effect.

Contingency Date 2025

The Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) has announced the contingency days for the Summer exams series 2025. The dates that have been set aside are the afternoons of the 11th June as well as the day of 25th June 2025.   This means that any students still external exams in June 2025 MUST be available until 25th June 2025 to sit any exams that had to be postponed.

External Candidates

Netherhall only accepts external candidates where the student is a former pupil re-taking an exam.  We are not able to accept other external candidates.

Guidance

The Joint Council for Qualification (JCQ) requires that we make students aware of the rules that govern exams.  Their official guidance document can be downloaded below and is also emailed to students along with their timetables in March.  Students will also have an assembly to explain the rules as well having mock exams to experience them.

Home Languages

From Year 10 students can opt to take a GCSE in their home language.  An invitation email is sent out to parents during the Autumn term with an application form for completion.  No charge is made for this but we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate all languages.

Post Results Services

Details of the costs for these services are emailed to students together with their results.

Review

If a student is unhappy with their grade there are a number of services available from the exam board whereby the grade can be reviewed.  Students need to be aware that a review can reduce a grade as well as improve it.  Application forms and further details are available form the exam office.

Script Copy

Students are able to apply for a copy of their script if they wish.

Resits

Students who wish to resit an exam can do so the following year at their own expense.  An application form is available from the exams office and needs to be returned together with payment by mid January; the exact date will be shown on the form.

Results Day 2025

GCE Results will be issued on Thursday 14th August 2025. GCSE Results will be issued on Thursday 21st August 2025.
