Attendance
Please report absences, lateness and appointments by using the online form by using the below button:
We consider regular attendance and punctuality to be very important. We have attentive and caring staff who encourage these good habits. Our electronic registration system allows us to monitor student attendance lesson by lesson.
We want our students to make the very most of their time at Netherhall. Parents are therefore advised to avoid taking family holidays in term-time as this can cause a lot of disruption in a child’s learning. Please note that only the Principal can authorise such absences and requests need to be made in writing.
What should I do if my child is away from school?
We greatly value close communication between school and home. We ask parents to telephone or e-mail to let us know the reason for any absence.
WE ASK STUDENTS:
- To attend school regularly and on time as per timetable timings.
- If arriving late into school for any reason, (medical appointment), sign in at Reception.
- If leaving the school premises during the school day to sign out at Reception.
WE ASK PARENTS:
- Give a specific reason (e.g., chest infection, sickness bug) – not just “illness.”
- Request term-time absence using the online request form (exceptional cases only).
- Tell the school in advance about medical appointments; arrange outside school hours if possible.
- Keep contact details up to date and provide two emergency contacts.
- Speak to staff if there are any issues affecting attendance.
- To request term-time absence, complete the online form here; requests not made through this link will be recorded as unauthorised.
ATTENDANCE SUPPORT:
If you need support with your child’s attendance, please contact our Attendance Team by emailing attendance@netherhallschool.org or calling 01223 242931 (option 1). This will connect you to the attendance mailbox, and a member of the team will respond as soon as possible.
Please do not contact Reception about absences, as this may prevent other important calls from being answered.
WHAT SCHOOL CAN DO:
